data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Galerie Bernard Bouche is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent works by Carlo Guaita, Archeologica, starting from the February 4. In his work the Italian artist (born in Palermo in 1954) subtly navigates us through a sculpture (in cement, in stone or in cardboard), a painting or books through a lexical grammar which relates to the titles of the series he works on for a few years now, like Dagherrotipi, Orizzonte, I Colassati, Universo Appeso...<\/p><p>These are sometimes the titles from small booklets which the artist publishes almost every year, the last one being Paesaggi residuali. As explains Denis Viva in his text Carottages, the research of Guaita confronts the monochrome painting and the landscape, the latter being understood as an antagonism, but also as a substrate generator. In these various aspects, the artist creates a continuous stratification, almost an archiving, as with this series of works on paper - collage, photography and ink, under the title Paesaggi residuali. In the series Dagherrotipi or Pozzi, for example, there are monochrome paintings of small dimensions, made with a material as simple as possible (as always does the artist), passing it back and forth to the infinite with the support of a diluted colour on the final transparent varnish. The colour is not extended, but left to the horizontal sedimentation. Viewed from a distance, the Dagherrotipi appear flat and reflective so that, seen in the proximity, they reveal to be absorbent, saturated and deep. Again, we quote Denis Viva : \u00ab Often, but not always, black made his appearance. Its intensity is so high that it lets us perceive a presence more than an absence. This should be a total absence of light, but, paradoxically, it has its own power of emanation. Sometimes it is because of a saturation, of a tracing, of a pressing, of a tearing. Dans son exposition, l\u2019artiste Italien (n\u00e9 \u00e0 Palerme en 1954) nous fait subtilement voyager \u00e0 travers la sculpture, (ciment, pierre ou carton) la peinture ou les livres en se servant d\u2019une grammaire lexicale qui concerne les titres de s\u00e9ries sur lesquelles il travaille d\u00e9sormais depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, comme\u00a0Dagherrotipi, Orizzonte, I Colassati, Universo Appeso&#8230; Ce sont parfois les titres de petits fascicules que l&rsquo;artiste \u00e9dite presque chaque ann\u00e9e, le dernier \u00e9tant\u00a0Paesaggi residuali.Comme l&rsquo;explique Denis Viva dans son texte\u00a0Carottages, la recherche de Guaita affronte la peinture monochrome et le paysage, ce dernier \u00e9tant entendu comme un antagonisme mais aussi comme substrat g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur. Dans ces divers aspects, l&rsquo;artiste r\u00e9alise une stratification continue, presque un archivage, comme cet ensemble d&rsquo;\u0153uvres sur papier &#8211; collage photographie et encre, sous le titre Paesaggi residuali. Dans les s\u00e9ries\u00a0Dagherrotipi ou Pozzi,\u00a0 par exemple, il s&rsquo;agit de peintures monochromes de petites dimensions r\u00e9alis\u00e9es, comme toujours chez Guaita, sur un mat\u00e9riau le plus simple possible, en passant et repassant \u00e0 l&rsquo;infini sur le support une couleur dilu\u00e9e dans le vernis final transparent. La couleur n&rsquo;est pas \u00e9tendue\u00a0mais laiss\u00e9e \u00e0 la s\u00e9dimentation horizontale. Observ\u00e9s de loin, les Dagherrotipi apparaissent plats et r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissants alors que, vus de pr\u00e8s, ils se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent absorbants, satur\u00e9s et profonds. \u00c0 nouveau, nous citons dit Denis Viva : \u00ab Souvent, mais pas toujours, le noir fait son apparition. Son intensit\u00e9 est telle qu&rsquo;il nous laisse percevoir une pr\u00e9sence plus qu&rsquo;une absence.Ce devrait \u00eatre une absence totale de lumi\u00e8re mais, paradoxalement, il a sa propre force d&rsquo;\u00e9manation. Parfois c&rsquo;est \u00e0 cause d&rsquo;une saturation, d&rsquo;un calque, d&rsquo;une pression, d&rsquo;un d\u00e9chirement.
