class=\"\">Emanuele Becheri, born in Prato in 1973, graduated from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1995. He<span class=\"\"> has always been interested in drawing, which he has studied in a variety of ways - experimenting with drawing in total darkness, then through photography, video and music, and finally through sculpture and terracotta. \u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">The relationship between drawing and sculpture is not a concept but, according to Becheri, a reverberation. There is a relationship of resonance - which you feel mainly in the terracotta, a tension in the gesture, a vibration in the line, a complicity where certain details in the drawing resonate in the sculpture just as certain details in the sculpture resonate in the drawing.\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div class=\"\"><div class=\"\"><span class=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div class=\"\"><span class=\"\">In his abstract, monochrome forms, Emanuele Becheri seeks light in sculpture, something he also sought in his earlier work, in drawing. Once again, it would be misleading to see this as a reminiscence of the work of old masters. If you ask him about a dialogue between his sculpture and the great masters, Becheri replies: \"In 2016, in the group exhibition<\/span><span class=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">The Lasting<\/i><i class=\"\">\u00a0at the Galleria Nazionale di Roma<\/i><span class=\"\">,I found myself with one of my works (<\/span><i class=\"\">Shining<\/i><span class=\"\">,2007, luminescent burrs of snails sculpting a black background for photographic backgrounds) next to<\/span><span class=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">Impression de Boulevard<\/i><span class=\"\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">Ecce Puer<\/i><span class=\"\">\u00a0by Medardo Rosso. That was the first spark. And later, in the exhibition\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">De Scultura,\u00a0<\/i><span class=\"\">curated by Saretto Cincinelli, at Casa Masaccio (2018), I showed my terracottas for the first time, creating a t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate with what was beginning to interest me more and more closely;
